on suicide?

theres other places for that surely?

B1oodFlower- 12-12-2004
Don't do it kids there's always something to hold onto.

It's very selfish indeed. Imagine what your family would have to live though if you did it. Like Bill said, everyone's got something to live for.

Jim Rhesus- 12-13-2004
My mum attempted it and it temporarly, totally ruined the lives of everyone who knew her and the whole familly. I found her and I was 8 years old.
She was seriously mentally ill, she is now fine. She got through it and I thank the doctors that saved her every day.

If you are going to do it do it knowing how much you are going to destroy the people that love you and don't for christ sake do it in a way that could land you spending the rest of your life a vegatable. Almost all overdoses don't work.

Neither do must train jumping and stuff and that effects others too.

A friend of a friend who wil remain names less od'ed on paracetamol and it took her 3 months of agony to die in intensive care.

If things are that bad rob a bank and run off to a tropical island or something suicide is NEVER ever the answer because it you do it then that is it. GONE, nothing. Not relief from pain and depression just nothing.

I feel strongly about this. If anyone really wants to talk to me just pm me and I will give you a call and I am serious. It is never worth it.

culture_slut- 12-14-2004
If someone is serious about ending their life then I doubt that they'd give you a call.

B1oodFlower- 12-14-2004
True a symptom of depression are suicidal thoughts, its hard to control them in some people. The only thing you can do is try to take it a day at a time.

Yeah, I know , i just want them to know that they can if they want to. Sometimes chatting to someone who has nothing to do with your situation helps look at stuff objectively.

Jim,

Have you thought about volunteering for the Samaritans if you feel so strongly about suicide? Phil Selway from Radiohead does it!

Taken from www.samaritans.org

"We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for volunteers. Samaritans is entirely dependent on voluntary support. It's a challenging experience and it can be very rewarding, knowing that you may have made a difference.

Apply to volunteer online now, call 08705 62 72 82 or find out your nearest branch. Alternatively visit our festival branch site to find out more about being a volunteer at major festivals. There are many ways that you can support us."

Yeah I know what you mean, I wasn't trying to be negative. In some situations talking can help.

I once had about a 2 hour chat with a friend a few years back now. It was in the freezing winter in town on a bench but it was a sort of "now or never" situation. She'd been self harming for a while without my knowledge. Instead of going home that night and slashing her body to pieces, she talked to her mum and got some real help from a doctor.

I think they should make it illegal again....
In my opinion, if someone gets to the 'feeling suicidal' stage then it's got to be pretty fucked up for them at that moment. therefore I think they might need to consider it and if it's that bad, attempt it. Why shouldn't they?
Selfishness is a peculiar argument huh.gif : surely (as Morrissey said somewhere, once) suicide is just taking total control of your life?

Well, think of the pain it would cause to ones who love them. I'm just saying that suicide is almost never the way 'cos there's always something to live for. Always.

B1oodFlower- 12-16-2004
I agree with that, but if someone really wants to do it you cant watch them 24/7.Plus at the end of the day, as much as I would try and disuade someone that is suicidal, it is someone else's body they do have the right of choice.

Jim Rhesus- 12-17-2004
It is just so final, everyone has really shit times in their life but there will always be better times. Saying that i am the eternal optomist.
Anyone read Candide by Voltaire?

B1oodFlower- 12-17-2004
Nope im kinda split because I agree there's always hope and something to hold onto whilst saying that someone has the right to do it if they think its a final option.
