Music Tourist Board includes various venues and promoters (mostly in S.London) that stage live music events. P.O.L.E. Club events are held at a few places, mostly New Cross Inn (first Tuesday of the month) and Lewisham's Dirty South (last Friday of the month and an Access All Ages event last Sunday of the month).
There are usually a couple of local promoters, djs, band members etc (and sometimes zine writers, photographers...) for having a natter or perhaps getting more gigs.
Bands being sought that are entertaining on stage, and with good songs (try to put as good a show on as possible, even in small venues) but that are also pro-active at promoting their gigs, due to the fact that unsigned band events need that extra effort. So if interested, do get in touch about the next slots.
Music policy? Well, haven't put Thrash Metal on but it's usually a mixture from rock, pop, newer wave, alternative pop, electro with occasional hip hop, funk, disco and last week some amazing soul vocals over pop rock courtesy of Ryez.
It's been going around three years now and by putting on those kind of bands (some of which are on this forum) have had many a really enjoyable (and often legendary) occasion. Also kept in touch with a load of the bands, and vice versa, which is a great boost when it comes to putting on tours and one off shows.
Jane Deane is not just a fab DJ from P.O.L.E. Club but also now the main booker for Music Tourist Board http://www.myspace.com/janedeane
Previous MTB events included : http://com2.runboard.com/bartful.f7.t44 and an outdoor event, Rocklands Bandstand at this year's People's Day Free Festival in London.

Yes, bands, the MTB are lovely promoters to play for too. No bullshit.

Thanks Mark, we try our best and hoping to get better. Having some fantastic bands on the wavelength is a great boost.

... and boy am i missing you! i have harassed the chinchilla for some macaca action some time, so fingers crossed
some twat nicked me phone but luckily one of unemployable welsh scum sorted me out with 079 0360 1227 diamond geezers or what
your promotional skills are in demand with me jim too as artful is approaching and wondered if you would like to be involved. well, it's not approaching, it's july and artful is in october but it's it's already coming together
i was dropping flyers off in new cross inn the other week and niz of the sly ones mentioned that it's his birthday at the start of october so october 3rd at p.o.l.e. club is now booked as the first artful party confirmed (any excuse!) at that venue. the other day i bumped into ceri james on deptford broadway and it's his birthday around then too, so i said to him to get in touch with niz (the sly ones are on the nx replugged album that ceri put together) to make it a double, then went to the net cafe there and sat next to hatcham social who are gonna play the next access all ages gig at the end of this month.
so if youre not doing nothing on the last sunday of july and fancy checking that out come down to dirty south. it's inthe afternoon too, so easy to get home and stuff. if you like the look of what is going on you might fancy that (end of september one is already booked up) plus am lookinginto a few venues for compilation gigs from september/october onwards and youre very fine organiser.
lets get together and do some stuff, eh?
that would have been ace to hear you and jonny together on the phone. i really miss him. very kindly contributed a track towards the compilation. must find some ways to link up with new york during artful!
big love XXX

Doh, I've only just noticed this forum was here.
Things have been quiet in Psychotic Reaction land as we've been training a new drummer and working on new recordings. We'll be looking for more London gigs when the new single's ready (this one might have a video as well!), so I'll be in touch when I know more.
