It's probably the gayest thing ever. EVER. Even gayer than Clarkson's skin tight jeans and horrifically suffocated desire for bumfun.
Top Gear is one of the best things on tele though -- it's one of the few things I'll make a real effort to try and watch. The rest, besides Extras and Mitchell and Webb, makes me want to go on the internet even more.

He's making a good recovery it seems but it'll be at least six months, according to the docs, before he recovers enough to be on TV again.

Good on him. He's got a charm about him, something most TV faces lack with a soul-sapping severity.
I'd put good money on it being the world's fastest car crash, at 300mph plus. And I bet he gets a tidy little documentary out of it as well.

Now that's just being cynical, but sadly the way Tv's gone it wouldn't surprise me.
