In the year that Blue Cat is celebrating it's 10th anniversary, IN THE CITY is celebrating its 15th birthday.This international music convention/festival has the highest signing ratio of any music convention in the world: Coldplay, Oasis, The Darkness, Sterophonics, David Gray, Daft Punk and Muse all played as unknowns at ITC venues across Manchester, before going on to fill stadiums
across the world.
Over 3000 music industry professionals from across the world hit Manchester to network, party and make things happen. Managers, A&R, publishers, agents, lawyers and label heads – as well as all the key international trade organisations.
Blue Cat Cafe has joined forces with ITC for many years providing an ideal exciting environment for bands to showcase their music and make the most of the opportunities that the convention has to offer to unsigned acts. In the City will take place at The Blue Cat Cafe between 29th October to 31st October. Unfortunately we cannot offer a slot to everybody. We will be accepting demos up to 8th September and will announce the bills shortly after this date.

This is a lovely, friendly, intimate venue and unlike the central Manchester events, the audience don't keep walking in and out all the time while the unsigned bands are on. It turned into a bit of an adventure really, cos afterwards there was Mani of Stone Roses in the Indian next door (if you know what I mean). He recommended the chicken vindaloo then came and had some and a natter in the van. Nice/surreal way to end off a day trip...
