The Virgin Suicides- Like some kind of crazy pastiche of the early Manics and their early bsides.They are actually good in a sweet coypist way. The phots on their site are crap and their site is pretty immature but the ep i heard was good in the way it ripped off the manics but managed to still sound like a sepearate band.

I agree I love c:b as well. Looking forward to the release of their single soon.
Those of you who don't know them, they're worth checking out.

Other bands i'm liking at the mo are Bloc Party, Mars Volta, not that much else really, kinda bored with most of the "The whatever the fuck" bands. Art Brut are amusing too.

Yeah agreed about the "THE" bands there's farrrrrr too many of them. Although the eighies synth is making a come back I for one am glad.

Loving the Stillls record brilliant melodies on that, and have got the Seachange album thats perhaps only a 6/7 out of 10 not as good as i expected. Other new bands I guess the Delays sound poptastic at the minute.

Yeah the stills album is cool although it does seem to flag in the middle some what.
Iv only heard the delays on radio 2 (yeh i do listen to it sometimes)they are very beach boy's from what i heard.
Apart from that older stuff im listening to right now includes, neil young, the cure, and the smiths.

There's nothing wrong with listening to Radio 2 Jonathon Ross's show is great And I sometimes find myself listening to Radio 4

Anyway, the only newish band I recall hearing recently are Keane, I've heard the one song on the radio all the time, and I saw them supporting Travis last night...I think they're alright, but then most people dismiss them for sounding like Travis...which in my opinion is a good thing

Yeah im listening to radio 2 more and more these daysd its worrying iv only just turned 24 for gawds sake hehe! But Radio one has seriously gone down in quality(Mark and Lard leaving doesnt help too!)!

Im not really a fan of keane but again iv only heard a few things of there's so ill give reserve full judgement until their albums out!

The new Travis single is Love Will Come Through I think I've already got that song on the album (12 Memories) but I'll be buying it anyway cos it has Dougie signing on one of the B Sides (Know Nothing) and they played it last night...we cheered so much when he started singing

hmmm Thye are all a bit dull and similar what gets me is that Jeff Buckley was better than all of them.Its just my opinion though Fiona is entitled to like them
