Jeff Buckley = great, but not as great as Travis

There's nothing wrong with sounding like Travis...could do a lot worse And anyway...I guess they sound a little similar, but I can't say I thought they sounded the same...Keane don't have a guitar or bass player...Travis have 2 guitar players and a bass player (Dougie )

As for Coldplay and Snow Patrol, I wouldn't know, I don't particularly like Coldplay (they were described as the "new Travis" when they first emerged...it's always put me off, I've never really understood why we needed a "new Travis" when Travis are amazing ). And I haven't heard much from Snow Patrol...

Keane sound more like Embrace to me ......

Not exactly new, but I am head over heels in love with the Libertines at the moment. I saw one of their 'secret' gigs last Sunday in a bar in Camden and it was amazing. Technically not the smoothest gig, but that not what it is all about. The interaction between the audicence and the band was really intense. I think it is great that they are a band signed to a major, played 3 nights at the Brixton academy and yet in their hearts are still a pub band who want to play live at every conceivable oppourtunity.

Yarr hey are good although i havent seen them live yet.

Im a bit dissapointed in their debiut album though it has about four amazing songs and the rest is so so ......

Maybe working with Bernard Butler again will help.

the only knowledge i have of new bands, that i have listened to, is the darkness good band IMO.

grrrr since buying the snow patrol album, it is almost the only thing i have listened to for weeks!
how can you compare them to the pile of boring granny pants that is coldplay?!!!

They are all the bl**dy same.

Check out the following not all nessesarilly new but great! if you are listening to Coldplay, travis, Keane etc.......go to your local record shop trade em in for some music by this lot and watch your life change

Go see some local bands support them watch them form a band three chords etc........pick up a guitar. Become part of a music scene it will change everything for the better!

ooh u must see the libertines live, i never really fell in love with them til i saw them live...i could never respect a band that didnt rock live
ditto the glitterati, although i did have to sit through jet to see them...the glits arent big fans of them either though

The Glits seem like lovely guys, not too keen on their music though but will keep an ear out all the same.
