MACACA MULATTA rapidly formed several months after Chris Chinchilla left infamous Indie-stars, Art Brut and London Punks, Rhesus, imploded. Initially cobbled together to support The Rakes at a secret gig, the band have been speedily developing and playing dates all o ver the UK and further afield including New York City. Drawing together a wide variety of influences, Its still a raw sound, taking shape with a mixture of racous calls to arms and slower, dark, brooding tracks all within the confines of a three piece. Their first demos were recorded half in a dark, dank and dreary old distillery in Deptford with electricity borrowed from the car wash opposite, and half in a front room in Brixton, engineered and produced by the band and the infamous Les Fruitbat Carter of 90s superstars Carter USM.
Toronto's MELIGROVE BAND was formed by Jason Nunes, Darcy Rego and Michael Small in high school in 1997. Andrew Scott joined in late 2002 when his previous band, Femme Fatale, gave way to Death From Above 1979. After two critically-acclaimed indie albums, in 2005 the Meligrove Band became the first Canadian group to sign a worldwide deal with V2 Records.

Arran- 07-27-2006

There is no "The" before Subliminal Girls. I think the fans might be slightly confused. Some folkgothelectropunk crossover night
Jim Rhesus- 07-27-2006
And of course there is the musical differences.
I might be at Windmill tomorrow!
Arran- 07-27-2006

Jim Rhesus- 07-27-2006
