I really can't tell the difference between this and a Gibson 335.

The neck is thinner on the gibbo and it feels a lot more solid on the build side. Pickups vastly different too.
Tim Sailplaine is king of guitar geeks even worse than me!

I've a friend who swears by old Japanese Westones. This thunder II with active electronics he has sounds absolutely monstrous.

I've always been more of a Fender/Hagstrom guy though. This new guitar is a bit of a departure.

i SWEAR BY THEM TOO, THE AMERICAND LET GUITAR BUILDING GO TO THEIR HEADS AFTER ABOUT 1972 THEN THE JAPS GOT TONNES BETTER THAN THEM

Now the East Germans, they knew how to make a guitar. Tons of machine-bent metal and it feels heavy enough to be filled with concrete:
'68 Musima Eterna

Seriously, it's a terrible guitar, but I love it to bits.
