We wish to invite you and your friends along to our next experience.
Do we need a reason…….. The Next Night is FRIDAY 22nd September at: The Pleasure Unit Bethnal Green 359 Bethnal Green Rd London E2 6LG
Playing for your entertainment we have;
WRETCHED REPLICA http://www.myspace.com/wretchedreplica They speak for themselves. “Our own guitar sound has more of that of a angular slant post-punk sound. We take some influence from more primitive ideas of concept such as that of Samuel Becketts early plays and shows of syd barrett, rather than more recent and misleading nonsense; without trying to become a band with useless ideal” You don’t want to miss this band, fresh out of the recording studios as well so expect something special.
ONLY THE LONELY http://www.myspace.com/onlythelonelyuk Sexier, better, more insistent than the Long Blondes, support slots with the Paddingtons coming up, their hard work is starting to pay off. Armed with songs about drugs and loss delivered in Sarafelina Simonsen seductive sultry voice, we can’t wait to bare witness to this fine band again.
KEN MACHINE http://www.myspace.com/kenmachine Hackney based electo punks, have been extremely busy of late crafting their songs to perfection, but still finding time to remix the Maccabes Xray quite brilliantly . This gig is their first in a while, expect it to be rammed they rarely gig and this will be a treat.
THE SAILPLANES http://www.myspace.com/thesailplanes The reviews say it all “Make a glorious noise that strips all of the best bits from Sonic Youth and Electrelane” “refreshingly divergent sound”, Their New EP ”The Deepest Red” will be available to buy on the door. “In no way does ‘The Deepest Red’ feel lightweight or unbalanced; partly due to the powerhouse drumming of Yola, punchy and with robotic precision, and partly due to the evocative edginess that comes from the vocals of Stacey and Tim”. Expect some noise.
BRITISH BROKEN CLASS http://www.myspace.com/britishbrokenclass Just a two piece with no bass or drums, described recently as “Magnificently miserabilist Morrissey/old school indie touches a bit awkward sounding but that’s something good a touch of New Order/The Cure too.” Again expect some noise.
Plus we have DJ’s playing electronic, no wave, new wave, post punk, artrock, anything to make you dance. Doors 8pm -2am Fiver on the door. Arrive early because you can’t come in after 12pm.
