Sudan-1, then, is the name of the most dangerous ingredient in food right now.
Apparantly, there's possible links to cancer from this ingredient. Poor control standards are to blame for allowing this into our food.

Personally, the words 'mountain' and 'molehill' have sprung to mind. I'm not bothered really at all. I won't be eating my beef and tomato pot noodle in the cupboard, since I've already had a few recently, but I'm not about to check if every thing I buy has this ingredient in it.

It worries me rather as, if this hadn't been discovered in Italy or wherever it was, would the companies concerned have actually told us that it had happened?

Every week there is a new food scare could be something to do with the amount of chemical swe add to the food chain it cant be natural.

Shame we cant all afford to go organic its bloody expensive though

I had a quick glance at the product list and nothing we buy is on it, so it doesn't bother me immensly. If I've eaten it, it'll only have been a really small dose.

actually, the thing that arouses more than a mild interest is why the ingredient is called Sudan -1. What's Sudan got to do with it? Is it produced there?
