Hi there,

As I'm new to this forum, I thought I'd add my thoughts on new stuff I've heard recently. Here's a few things:

ALBUMS
Regina Spektor : Begin To Hope - Little more mainstream than her other stuff, but really wonderful songs.

Serena Maneesh : Serena Maneesh - Great debut album, and probably made Kevin Shields cry when he first heard it!

The Dirty Three : Cinders - Awesome return to form, if only for Great Waves, prob the best song of the year for me.

SINGLES
The Howling Bells : Setting Son - Australia's answer to Mazzy Star

Buswell : Don't Go Wasting Time - Awesome single I heard the other day. Reminds me of The Divine Comedy or Mercury Rev playing Queen's "We Are The Champions"

Metric : Monster Hospital - Kinda got a Breeders feel about them and although I don't think this is their strongest song, still a good'un.

Amy Winehouse : Rehab - A futre classic. what more can you say.

I also hear Frank turner's got a single coming out in December that's gonna be a free download, so gonna keep my eyes peeled for that.

Sure there's more but those spring to mind at the moment, so thought I'd share those with you.

Feel free to comment or add your own recommendations.

thanks

Check out the gushing review of Amy Winehouse's single on this site! And the Long Blondes album bascially going to be the best thing since sliced bread.

Must be limbering up towards a GIITTV best of 2006...exciting!
