Former Popworld presenter and regular on the stand-up circuit Simon Amstell is to captain the good ship Never Mind The Buzzcocks for the BBC when the show returns later this year.

Good news, he was just hilarious on Popworld and I'm sure will be great here too. Mark Lamarr was getting infuriating, feeling he had to dominate the programme when Bill Bailey was making better jokes than him. Good riddance.

Anyway, Amstell is very funny, without being tiring in the way that Russel Brand and that other hairy bloke from CH4 do when they fail in their comedic attempts.
