Ban on Smoking in public?

I don't particularly like breathing in clouds of second hand smoke when I'm at the pub, but I'd rather be breathing that then smelling sticky beer-farts and other assorted insides-fumes.

It's a tad harsh on the people who enjoy a cig with their drink. There should be options for everyone, i think - not an obsolute either way...

I can't see any bad sides to it; smokers get to smoke less, non smokers get to inhale less second hand smoke and we'll all be able to drink more beer and have easier hangovers. The only people who will moan and gripe are the sad selfish twats who believe their oh so precious addiction gives them the right to f*ck everyone elses health over. They should open 'fag bars' for these people where you can go, chain smoke and drink tea. Nice.

I don't mind smoke so much. Grew up ina pub, my eyes used to sting as a kid from it.

Does this mean that we won't get as much tax from the addicts? Quick legalise Cannabis, we can tax the stonners!!! They never go out anyway!

The Minnimum wage? Giving the bank of England independence?Reduced the unemployment rates..but I take your point...

I think its a good idea really people shouldn't have to be subjected to other people's smoking habits if they don't wish to be especially when they are harmful to people's health, maybe they should start smokers pubs!

True, it may seem like I am damning them with faint praise!! Maybe not such a good idea with this government. But I do think it is a great thing for any government to have had the balls to do. First fox hunting and now this. Not bad in my opinion.

Smokers have had their 'freedom and rights' for the last 100 years or so to the detriment of everyone else . Now it's the turn of the non smokers. I can't wait for the time I can come home from a night out without smelling like an ash tray.

I find it hard to believe smokers are a minority group when I go out, it seems like everyone has a cigarette in hand.
