Last year the previews started in August, this year they start the week before. Sunday 24 September's Access All Ages Show (London SE13) bill is fully booked. The Blue Light District and Urban Minds have a monthly film night at The Fox (London SE13) last Mondays of the month.

Niz, front man of The Sly Ones is having a birthday celebration party gig at P.O.L.E. Club on 3rd October and, hooray for the Artful Dirty South Bank Show The Black Tulips. Just checking with Carl 2bob, but I believe we will be promoting Thursdays at The Fox in October, also.

We have had a lot of interest from street dancers, spoken word and a face painter. Also last year we set up a photo session / filming / interviews etc type thing. Looking for more off the wall stuff this year. Watch this space.

We wouldn't mind doing something again Caff.If you need any help, it would tie in nicely with a bit of repromotion we're gonna be doing.

mnx- 07-28-2006
and be happy to help you re-promote. i coloured in the fab giittv logo that liam's mate hannah made, specially!

just had happy mondays who do comedy every week in new cross. they are just off to edinburgh festival and are gonna hunt some class comedy acts for artful! yay! if any of those comedians like a bit of rock'n'roll i may kidnap them for compering duties mixed with a slot.

plus... am hunting down dvds by bands, of bands etc. and also looking for people to make short clips, imagining that they are for an intergalactic peace conference so that it will become one. also for people to be filmed and photographed in vega fair (space port and magic market) on the saturday afternoons, the theme is space travellers and rock stars (will blend in nicely).

am also putting on a show at the good ship in kilburn on 19th september, i know you were looking for a venue that way, perhaps a co-promo in october?

anyway, cheers and big love X

B1oodFlower- 07-28-2006
Yeah could do in October. What venue would that be?I have loads of ideas for bands.

I think we're trying the purple turtle for a compo launch night...

mnx- 08-07-2006
Did the Purple Turtle get back to you? Good idea for album launch.

Somebody said Dublin Castle is about £400 but has its own crowd anyway on a good night.
We may have a night in Camden on 6 October for Glam Rock shenanigans

Spill Magazine, Tough Love Records now come on board and Subliminal Girls playing at the launch gig. Suppose we'd better get our act ogether a bit and be organised soon as a load of bands and other performers have got in touch.

Cheers Bill! x

B1oodFlower- 08-07-2006
No they didn't sad.gif it appears you need to go in with a established promoter there.

Maybe we could do a compo launch as part of artful it would help both promo each other, if you have any ideas for central london venues???Dublin castle sounds good.

There is a promoter, Come Out 2nite Club that seem pretty much on the wavelength. Perhaps they might be up for doing some kind of co-pro with GIITTV if they're not already booked up in October.

There is also that new DJs-only Barfly in the West End. Might be good for a playback and excuse to get pissed (dunno what the bar prices are, mind!). The best prices in the West End at a bar are 12 Bar (tiny stage but great vibe) and the reallest punk club in London, London Callin' run by Barnet (his mate Sian was the only female promoter putting on bands like The Pistols, originally)
http://www.myspace.com/londoncallin - Barnet is also one of my bestest mates and he is sound as they come. I wanted him as part of this year's Artful

I'll keep thinking Bill! Oh yeah, about Dublin Castle, Public Enterprise have a night on hold for October 6th and although we are probably up the road that night on Chalk Farm Road, it might be worth having a natter with them about the place...

Involved in this year's Artful? Or interested in being involved? September 29th is the launch in the evening (Dirty South, Lewisham) and Goldsmiths have now confirmed a Music Tourist Board stall for this year's Freshers Fayre. What shall we do, goody bags where we put it all in?

And get stuff to Earwax, they're gonna have loads on including another Artful Broadcast!

Norf London

September 19th P.O.L.E. gig at London Good Ship will have Artful info or if anybody is up for a yak it's a preview (Artful shows by Maps Magazine and MD Music Management 24th-25th-26th-27th at The Good Ship as part of this year's Artful.

Sarf London

14th October is LIVE ON BROADWAY! a LiVe installation or music life on other worlds type thing and in the evening Raw Nerve are staging Dancing In Outer Space if you wanna acid electro disco (Live Bar, Deptford Broadway) and The Blue Light District are throwing a BEEEEEEEG party to launch The Chet single and a heap of lunacy. TBLD launched at last year's Artful and have come on frighteningly well since. They do everything you might want!

And more...
