Because basically, Tevez and Mascherano. Wow.
Even if they do only sign for one year, this might be the greatest year in West Ham's history.

I know I'm stunned I thought these two were nailed on for a bigger club(no disrespect to West Ham, well actually every disrespect to West Ham).Apparently its a dodgy deal, a Russian company owns their contracts. I'll have a bet with you now that Tevez leaves for a bigger club after a season.

I fully expect both to move after this season. But if the £35m release clause is really true, then West Ham are in a decent position to do some good business from it.

i agree bill, something isn't quite right. and the fact that the fees remain undisclosed further suggests this. how can west ham buy 2 rising stars of world football? just doesn't make sense...
apparantly tevez has been watching all of the west ham matches on tv...

It is amazing, yeah. Although the whole of their season will be centred around them both. That's always a fragile position.
An Iranian financier who owns a company called MSI (Media Sports Investment, I think) owns their 'registrations'. In effect, this means he owns the players. He was helping their previous club, Corinthians in Brazil, become a bigger club by investing. This involved buying those two players from their original clubs before people like Chelsea, Barcelona or Milan could get them. However, now what's happened is the Iranian (he's denied pretty vehemently that his money has got anything to do with Russian oil or Russia at all) has moved them on to West Ham, presumably to get aclimatised to English football before they make big money moves to The Big Three in a season or so. Now the Iranian is in talks to buy West Ham, meaning he'd own the club and the players as well.
The outcome is simple: Iranian financier with the un-spellable name makes obscene profit. West Ham make profit, get rich, Chelsea/Portsmouth style financial backer. Neutrals get to watch two excellent footballers, and we get to sit back and wish it was us who got them in our team every week.
However, I think West Ham should be very, very cautious. By no means is this a miracle with purely positive consequences. If they get relegated, which could always happen, they could turn into the next Leeds. Any nobody wants to be like Leeds.

I think basically MSI will pay their contracts while that at West Ham (for however long that may be).
But I don't really care. I can't wait to see them in the Premiership.

i think it's a win-win situation for west ham at the moment
even if they both decide to move onto bigger clubs next season, it's more than likely that they'll command some hefty transfer fees.
and if they decide to stay then the hammers will continue to benefit from their abilities
west ham fans should have plenty to be cheerful about right now..
