Hmm maybe we could switch it round but its a bit late now the line up has been sorted. Hopefully it will be busy-ish from the start I'm really pushing the promo hard.

Just an idea, how about Penny is billed as the compare?  Comedy club style and splits her act beteen all the bands.

No way! I'm not coming all the way from Leeds and bringing a load of people along just to compere.

It's enough that I'm first on without demoting me further.

Despite your foul mood, I imagine there's a fair few people who wouldn't be as ungrateful as you to open this CD launch.

As I said, I was in a foul mood and knackered to boot. Despite what I said, I don't mind opening on this occasion because it's a charity gig with a lot of big acts on the bill and part of a bigger festival so it's about something bigger than individual acts, though I don't tend to open generally and took issue with the idea that an act of my type should never play higher up whch is what had got my back up before I read Andy's post. I do still mind the idea of compering, though I don't think Bill would seriously go for that, and I mind even more the word "ungrateful". That implies that a place on the bill is an act of charity on the part of the organisers and I hardly think that's fair on anyone involved in the gig - actually playing is an act of charity, giving the money to Shelter is, giving acts who have already paid to be on the CD a place on the line-up isn't. I also don't think it's fair that people try to pressure Bill to fit more bands on the line-up when he's worked very hard in organising and publicising the event already and like he says needs acts to pull a crowd so that some money is actually made for charity.

Good flyer, though it wants a proof-read before you print it up...

I'm sure it'll be busy-ish, I've got people coming down so it should be ace.

Sadly for reasons beyond their control Hey Gravity have had to pull out!But by popular demand Nosferatu d2 have stepped in at the last minute:

Nosferatu D2 are two brothers from Croydon, the deep south of south London.

ADAM - plays the drumkit.
BEN - Plays the guitar and the vocal.

Damn Pest.com: "They could be young and naïve (they sound it, in a good way), old and jaded, or just very smart None of which matters".

NME: "This south London duo dound like post-rockers Mogwai reinterpreting choice moments from The Fall's illustrious back catalogue".

God is in the TV: "Like Art Brut and Biffy Clyro playing a Pavement song at the wrong speed as their girlfriends leave them, it shouldn't work but gloriously, it does.".
